Educational aspects of international voluntary services

This thesis is moving the subject matter of international voluntary services and they are taking back to his educational aspects. At the thesis a notion was clarified voluntary services, his history, as well as functions, kinds and forms are also described. Particular elements are leaning against different points of reference and lives concern different fields. The next section of the work is attentive around international voluntary services and is presenting his history, taking the range of several dozen years into consideration in the period of the 20th century. This history was also confronted with the present image of international voluntary services.In part historical, organizations which are dealing with international voluntary services in Poland were described. There are three various organisations, but they have a similar activity profile. This chapter contains information about it in what way it is possible to go for voluntary services, what conditions one should meet well it is possible thanks to that to make a profit. Right after describing individual organizations, an insight into projects which are offered as part of the trip to voluntary services is taking place. These offers are described with reference to all sorts groups of receipts, that is volunteers in every age. This allocation is showing the diversity of action the participant can carry which out while lasting voluntary services.The third part of the thesis is already specifically regarding educational aspects of international voluntary services. A definition of the informal education and her meaning in contemporary world was presented as well. This education was also juxtaposed with international voluntary services as reflecting to get competence while lasting him. Motivations of volunteers for the participation in the project are another issue. Here different kinds of motivation are being brought up, taking into consideration various factors and the their situation in life of volunteers. This chapter showed experience of volunteers which already underwent voluntary services and what there they learnt, was described what was changed in their life and whether voluntary services have only virtues or has also some defects.Recapitulating the thesis, there are a visualising arguments starting to speak for why it is worthwhile going for voluntary services and what educational and developmental values it is carrying into force of people which undertook these voluntary services.

Niniejsza praca porusza tematykę wolontariatu międzynarodowego i odnosi się do jego aspektów edukacyjnych. W pracy wyjaśnione zostało pojęcie wolontariat, opisana jest również jego historia, a także funkcje, rodzaje i formy. Poszczególne elementy opierają się o różne punkty odniesienia i dotyczą różnych dziedzin życia. Kolejna część pracy skupiona jest wokół samego wolontariatu międzynarodowego i przedstawia jego historię, biorąc pod uwagę przedział kilkudziesięciu lat w okresie XX wieku. Historia ta została także skonfrontowana z teraźniejszym obrazem wolontariatu międzynarodowego. Po części historycznej, opisane zostały organizacje jakie zajmują się wolontariatem międzynarodowym w Polsce. Są to trzy różne organizacje, lecz posiadają one podobny profil działalności. Rozdział ten zawiera informacje o tym w jaki sposób można wyjechać na wolontariat, jakie warunki należy spełniać i co można dzięki temu zyskać. Zaraz po przedstawieniu poszczególnych organizacji, następuje wgląd w projekty jakie są oferowane w ramach wyjazdu na wolontariat. Oferty te opisane są w odniesieniu do różnych grup odbiorów, to znaczy ochotników w każdym wieku. Rozdział ten ukazuje różnorodność działań jakie uczestnik może wykonywać podczas trwania wolontariatu.Trzecia część pracy dotyczy już konkretnie edukacyjnych aspektów wolontariatu międzynarodowego. Przedstawiona została definicja edukacji pozaformalnej oraz jej znaczenie we współczesnym świecie. Edukacja ta również została zestawiona z wolontariatem międzynarodowym jako odzwierciedlenie zdobywanych kompetencji podczas jego trwania. Kolejnym zagadnieniem są motywacje wolontariuszy do wzięcia udziału w projekcie. Poruszane są tutaj różne rodzaje motywacji, biorąc pod uwagę różne czynniki i sytuację życiową ochotników. W rozdziale tym przedstawione są także doświadczenia wolontariuszy, którzy odbyli już wolontariat i opisane zostało to czego się tam nauczyli, co się zmieniło w ich życiu i czy wolontariat ma same zalety czy posiada też jakieś wady.Podsumowanie pracy to przedstawienie argumentów przemawiających za tym dlaczego warto wyjechać na wolontariat i jakie wartości edukacyjne i rozwojowe wnosi on w życie ludzi, którzy tego wolontariatu się podjęli.
