Management of the memory of the era of PRL on the example of the Museum of PRL in Cracow

Niniejsza praca została poświęcona problematyce zarządzania pamięcią o minionej epoce historycznej. Przedmiotem badania jest epoka PRL-u i Muzeum PRL-u w Krakowie. W poszczególnych rozdziałach zaprezentowano charakterystykę dziedzictwa niematerialnego, pamięci, historii oraz polityki historycznej, analizie poddano prawne i historyczne uwarunkowania działalności muzeum w Polsce. Na potrzeby pracy przeprowadzono badania, których wyniki pokazują opinię społeczną na temat epoki. Głównym celem pracy jest pokazanie sposobów pamiętania o epoce PRL-u , a zarazem metod świadomego zarządzania nią przez wybraną instytucję.

This bachelor thesis was devoted to the problem regarding the management of the memory of the past historical period. The objects of the survery are the era of PRL and the Museum of PRL in Cracow. In the individual chapters presents the characteristics of intangible heritage, memory, history and historical policy. Legal and historical conditions of activity of the museum in Poland were analyzed. For the purpose of the thesis surveys have been conducted and their results demonstrate the public opinion about the era. The main aim of this work is to show the ways of remembering the era of PRL, and also the methods of conscious management by the selected institution.
