Art therapy as a method of help for cancer patients

The objective of my work is to analyze the art therapy and show how we can use this method in practise, working with oncological patiens.I'll try to prove that art therapy helps to treat cancer patients and support their families in such a difficult period for them, which is the cancer illness . Art therapy activities have a significant influence on the whole person not only on the mentality, but also on the somathic and emotional area. Mental condition of the each person, especially in somatic illnesses has an importand influence on the course of recovery. I'll try to prove that besides pharmacological therapy is worth to introduce other methods which can be hepfull in healin process, for example art therapy.

Celem mojej pracy jest analiza arteterapii oraz pokazanie jej praktycznego zastosowania w pracy z pacjentem onkologicznym. Postaram się udowodnić, że terapia sztuką wspomaga leczenie pacjentów chorych na nowotwory oraz wspiera ich rodziny w tak trudnym dla nich okresie jakim jest choroba bliskich. Działania arteterapeutyczne mają znaczący wpływ na całego człowieka, nie tylko na jego psychikę, ale również na sferę somatyczną i emocjonalną. Kondycja psychiczna człowieka zwłaszcza w chorobach somatycznych może wpłynąć w znacznym stopniu na przebieg choroby. Postaram się udowodnić, że oprócz leków farmakologicznych warto korzystać z innych metod niosących pomoc psychoterapeutyczną np. z arteterapii.
