The time and space in the novel of Carlos Ruiz Zafón "The Angels game"

Tytuł mojej pracy licencjackiej to „Czas i przestrzeń w powieści Carlosa Ruiza Zafóna Gra anioła”. W mojej pracy chciałabym przedstawić pewne problemy dotyczące książki Zafóna. W pierwszym rozdziale skupiam się na czasie, który jest przedstawiony jako wcześniejszy w porównaniu z pierwszą częścią trylogii autora. Koncentruję się na najbardziej burzliwych latach w historii Hiszpanii, które są tłem dla rozgrywającej się akcji. W następnym rozdziale analizuję przestrzeń, która w pewien sposób ma sakralne powiązania, i przedstawiam Barcelonę, gdzie toczy się akcja, jako symboliczne miasto. Ponadto, przedstawiam historyczne wydarzenia z Barcelony, które mają duży wpływ na akcję, narrację, bohaterów i ogólny charakter powieści.

My Bechelor Thesis is entitled „The time and space in the novel of Carlos Ruiz Zafón The Angel’s game”. In my thesis I would like to demonstrate certain problems of his book. In the first chapter I focus on the time which is presented as preceding to the first part of the trilogy of Zafón. I concentrate on the most turbulent years in the history of Spain which are the background to the action. In the next chapter I analyze the space which has sacred connotations and I present Barcelona, where the action is set, as a symbolic city. Moreover, I would like to present the real facts about Barcelona which have a huge impact for the action, narration, protagonists and the general character of the novel.

Mi memoria de diplomatura es titulada „El tiempo y espacio en la novela de Carlos Ruiz Zafón El juego del ángel”. En mi trabajo comento ciertos problemas de la obra de Zafón. En el primer capítulo abordo el tema del tiempo, que es anterior al tiempo de la primera parte de la trilogía de Zafón. Me enfoco en los años más tempestuosos en la historia de España que constituyen el fondo de los hechos ficticios presentados en el libro. En el siguiente capítulo analizo el espacio y presento Barcelona, donde se desarrolla la acción, como un lugar simbólico que tiene algunas connotaciones sacras. También demuestro las informaciones reales sobre Barcelona que tienen la influencia en la acción, la narración, los protagonistas y el carácter general de la obra.
