The influence of the hydroelectric power stations on human lives based on the example of Chinese Three Gorges Dam

Praca ta przedstawia wpływu Zapory Trzech Przełomów na życie człowieka i otaczającego go środowiska. Budowa ukończona została w roku 2009 i prócz roli ochronnej miała także stanowić nowe źródło energii elektrycznej. Pomimo, iż realizuje ona swoje główne cele związane z ochroną przeciwpowodziową jej powstanie spotyka się z ogromną krytyką. W dalszej części przedstawione zostaną zarówno wady jak i zalety budowy zapory.

This paper describes influence of the Three Gorges Dam on human lives and environment. Dam was completed in 2009 and aside its primary role of preventing floods, was supposed to become a new source of electric power. Despite the dam fulfilling its objectives it still stays under the critique of many. In the following part will be presented the advantages and disadvantages of the construction.
