Analiza polskiego i ukraińskiego przekładu powieści i filmu Harry Potter i Kamień Filozoficzny

Harry Potter to fenomen na skalę światową. Cykl składający się z siedmiu powieści sprzedał się w milionach egzemplarzy i został przetłumaczony na kilkadziesiąt języków na świecie. Jego filmowa adaptacja również okazała się sukcesem. Wszystko rozpoczęło się od jednej książki o tytule Harry Potter i Kamień Filozoficzny. W początkowym rozdziale przybliżono historię napisania i wydania pierwszej powieści oraz nakręcenia filmu na jej podstawie. W rozdziałach teoretycznych opisano typy i proces tłumaczenia audiowizualnego oraz rozwiązania często stosowane przez tłumaczy podczas tłumaczenia nazw własnych oraz wyrażeń nieprzekładalnych kulturowo. W rozdziale praktycznym dokonano analizy ukraińskiego i polskiego tłumaczenia książki i filmu Harry Potter i Kamień Filozoficzny. Autor, na podstawie wybranych scen z filmu bada m. in. dobór barwy głosu aktorów, biorących udział w polskim przekładzie dubbingowym i ukraińskim voice-over.

Harry Potter is a global phenomenon. The series, which consists of seven novels, has sold in millions of copies and was translated for several dozen languages. Its film adaptation was a big success as well. It has all began by one book – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The first chapter of this work describes the history of creating the first Harry Potter book and its film adaptation. The theoretical chapters consist of methods of audiovisual translation, and the solutions frequently used by the translators, while translating proper nouns along with some theoretically untranslatable vocabulary. In the final, practical chapter, the author analyzes Polish and Ukrainian translations of the first Harry Potter book and the movie. The author, basing on the chosen scenes from the movie, examines, for example, the selection of the voice actors.
