Wybrane dzieła Théophilea Gautier jako ujęcia mitu Narcyza

Le mémoire se penche sur la relation entre les mythes et littérature. La clé d’interprétation de cette étude des œuvres choisies de Théophile Gautier est le mythe de Narcisse en termes psychanalytiques et mythocritiques. Dans le premier chapitre des notions théoriques telles que plusieurs définitions du mythe ou la différence entre le mythe littéraire et le mythe ethno-religieux sont abordées (M. Eliade, P. Brunel). Puis le mythe de Narcisse d’après "Métamorphoses" d’Ovide est analysé et ses possibles interpretations selon J. Kristeva sont proposées. Partie finale de ce chapitre dans laquelle la notion du "stade du miroir" de J. Lacan et une analyse du mythe de Narcisse d’après G. Bachelard jouent un role très important, se concentre sur l’approche psychanalytique. Deuxième chapitre du mémoire est consacré à l’analyse des œuvres choisies de Théophile Gautier ("Spirite", "Onuphrius", "Avatar" et "Mademoiselle de Maupin"). Son objectif est de montrer que l’œuvre littéraire de Gautier est pleine de contextes mythologiques qui ont été évoqués explicitement par l’auteur ou qui se trouvent sur un niveau plus profond de l’interprétation.

The main subject of the present thesis is a relation between myths and literature. The myth of Narcissus seen in the light of psychoanalitic and mythocritical studies is an interpretation key proposed for selected works of Théophile Gautier. First chapter of the thesis focuses on theoretical issues such as different definitions of myth or the difference between literary and ethno-religious myth (M. Eliade, P. Brunel). Then the myth of Narcissus according to the version present in "Metamorphoses" by Ovid is presented and analysed along with its possible interpretations proposed by J. Kristeva. Final part of this chapter, where the notion of "mirror stage" coined by J. Lacan and G. Bachelard’s interpretation of the myth of Narcissus are of special importance, is dedicated to psychoanalitic approach. Second chapter of the thesis presents an analysis of selected works of Théophile Gautier ("Spirite", "Onuphrius", "Avatar" and "Mademoiselle de Maupin"). It aims at demonstrating that Gautier’s works are full of mythological contexts which not only are quoted explicitly by the author, but also can be found at deeper levels of interpretation.

Praca poświęcona jest relacji mitów z literaturą. Proponowanym kluczem interpretacyjnym wybranych dzieł Théophile'a Gautier jest mit Narcyza w ujęciu psychoanalitycznym i mitokrytycznym. Pierwszy rozdział pracy skupia się na zagadnieniach teoretycznych, takich jak: różne definicje mitu, różnica między mitem etno-religijnym a mitem literackim (M. Eliade, P. Brunel). Następnie przywołany i poddany analizie jest mit Narcyza, według wersji zawartej w "Metamorfozach" Owidiusza i jego możliwe interpretacje zaproponowane przez J. Kristevę. Ostatnia część tego rozdziału poświęcona jest podejściu psychoanalitycznemu. Szczególną rolę pełni w niej pojęcie "stadium lustra" wprowadzone przez J. Lacana oraz analiza mitu Narcyza według G. Bachelarda. Drugi rozdział pracy jest poświęcony analizie wybranych dzieł Théophile'a Gautier ("Spirite", "Onuphrius", "Avatar" oraz "Mademoiselle de Maupin"). Jego celem jest wykazanie, że twórczość tego autora pełna jest kontekstów mitologicznych, zarówno tych wprost przez niego przywoływanych jak i tych znajdujących się na głębszym poziomie interpretacyjnym.
