Komedie filmowe na temat Holocaustu. Relacje gatunku i tematyki a problem stosowności

Celem pracy jest pochylenie się nad problemem stosowności gatunku komediowego w filmach o tematyce Holocaustowej. Szczególnej analizie został poddany ‘śmiech’, jako narzędzie zdolne oswoić pamięć o tragicznych wydarzeniach II wojny światowej. Analiza śmiechu została przeprowadzona na podstawie badań M. Bachtina i W. Kaysera. Ważnym zagadnieniem poruszanym w pracy jest problem tabloidyzacji tematu Zagłady i jej miejsce w kulturze. Rozważania prowadzone są na podstawie filmów Życie jest piękne i Pociąg życia, które to są przykładem próby zerwania z konwencją filmową. W pracy omówiony został wpływ dzieł filmowych na postrzeganie przez ludzi prawdy historycznej.

The aim of the dissertation is to analyze whether it is appropriate to employ comedy as a movie genre to depict Holocaust events. The main scope is to analyze the “laughter” category, as a tool to domesticate II World War tragic events, done through lenses of M. Bakhtin and W. Kayser theories. The important part of this work is the problem of scandalization of the Shoah and its cultural significance. The analysis is based on two movies, The Live is Beautiful and The Train of Life, as they are both trying to diverge from conventional Holocaust movie imaginary. Therefore, in the background the dissertation tackles on the problem of impact the movie genres have on social perception of historical truth.
