Norman politics in the Mediterranean in eleventh century

The work describes the Norman politics in the Mediterranean in the eleventh century. It presents the genesis of the Norman appearance in this part of Europe and shows their actions against the local powers. The main part of the work is devoted to the Norman conquest in the lands of southern Italy and Sicily, but it also concerns their expansion towards the Balkans and the Middle East. In the work there has been preserved the chronology of events related to shaping them families d'Hauteville and to a lesser extent Drengot.

Praca opisuje politykę normańską w basenie Morza Śródziemnego w XI wieku. Przedstawia genezę pojawienia się Normanów w tej części Europy oraz ukazuje ich działania skierowane przeciwko lokalnym potęgom. Zasadnicza część pracy poświęcona jest normańskim podbojom na ziemiach południowej Italii i Sycylii, jednakże poruszone zostały również wątki dotyczące ekspansji w kierunku bałkańskim i bliskowschodnim. W pracy została zachowana chronologia wydarzeń związanych z kształtującymi je rodami d'Hauteville i w mniejszym stopniu Drengot.
