Schindler’s list as a composition of a new view on the Holocaust through the popular culture.

Schiendler’s List is one of the most popular films about the Holocaust, that was produced by Steven Spielberg, a famous Jewish director and producer, at the end of the XX century. However, the film distribution and it’s perception, as an unconditional source of the historical facts, may cause different issues. I am trying to present the whole spectrum of problems, that are connected with the converting historical facts into fiction in pop-culture. Beside this I am pointing the main shortcomings of Schiendler’s List, making the conclusion, what a drama, based on the real events shouldn’t have.

Lista Schindlera – to najpopularniejszy film o Holocauście, nakręcony pod koniec dwudziestego stulecia przez Stevena Spielberga – słynnego hollywoodzkiego reżysera pochodzenia żydowskiego. Jednak popularność tego dzieła kinematograficznego oraz postrzeganie jego, jako samodzielnego źródła prawdy historycznej może budzić obawy. W niniejszej pracy spróbuję przedstawić spektrum problemów, związanych z przekształceniem faktów historycznych w fikcję w kinie gatunkowym, a także podstawowe wady filmu Lista Schindlera, jako dramatu opartego na prawdziwych wydarzeniach.
