The figure of St. Mary is widely used in the literature of all ages, also in the contemporary novel. On the grounds of two novels: 'The Gospel According to Jesus Christ' by José Saramago and 'Marie' by Marek Halter, the analysis of her creations in the contemporary novel is made. Both authors make references to Biblical apocryphs and canonic Gospels.
Postać Maryi jest szeroko eksploatowana w literaturze wszystkich wiekow, również w powieści współczesnej. Na podstawie dwóch powieści: "Ewangelii według Jezusa Chrystusa" José Saramago i "Ewangelii według Marii, maki Jezusa" Marka Haltera dokonana zostaje analiza jej kreacji w powieści współczesnej. Obaj autorzy nawiązują do biblijnych apokryfów i kanonicznych Ewangelii.
