Kompetencje dziekanów jako menedżerów średniego szczebla zarządzania : koncepcja badań

The article focuses on the competence of deans, as university managers of a middle management level. The starting point of the analysis is legislation setting the major framework of requirements and qualifications. The research is aimed at answering the question how sovereign directors of organisational units (deans, directors of institutes) perceive changes undergoing in the universities. The major research thesis has been formulated as follows: deans’ competence constitutes the key role in the development and implementation of changes in the universities.
