"Assessment of the Doha Round in the context of the search for solutions to the problems of modern trade".

The aim of this paper is to discuss the main barriers existing within the World Trade Organization and to compare the effects of its activities to the alternatives, emerging through the creation of agreements at the regional level, such as The North American Free Trade Agreement and The Anti counterfeiting Trade Agreement or The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Considerations are conducted on the basis of the interpretation of the scientific literature available regarding the discussed issues. A detailed analysis has been subjected to an unfinished process of the Doha Round and its effects. In addition, discusses the progress and the importance of the three selected regional agreements, finally to try to compare their results to the solutions resulting from negotiations undertaken on a global scale.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest omówienie podstawowych barier występujących w ramach Światowej Organizacji Handlu i porównanie efektów jej działań do alternatywnych rozwiązań, pojawiających się poprzez tworzenie porozumień na poziomie regionalnym, takich jak Północnoamerykańska Strefa Wolnego Handlu, Umowa Handlowa Dotycząca Zwalczania Obrotu Towarami Podrabianymi czy Transatlantyckie Porozumienie Handlowe. Rozważania prowadzone są na podstawie interpretacji literatury naukowej dostępnej w zakresie poruszanej problematyki. Szczegółowej analizie został poddany przebieg niedokończonej rundy z Doha oraz jej efekty. Dodatkowo omówiono przebieg oraz istotność trzech wybranych porozumień regionalnych, by na końcu podjąć próbę porównania ich rezultatów, do rozwiązań powstałych w wyniku rozmów podejmowanych w skali globalnej.
