The fate of Palestinians after establishment of Israel in the view of Modern Palestinian Literature based on selected works of Ġassān Kanāfanī and poems of Maḥmūd Darwīš .

Niniejsza praca magisterska ukazuje losy narodu palestyńskiego po utworzeniu państwa Izrael w oparciu o wiedzę historyczną oraz współczesną literaturę palestyńską. Przedstawia historię Palestyny, poczynając od XIX wieku, aż po XXI wiek. Omawia zagadnienia osadnictwa żydowskiego na jej terytorium, starając się określić jego ramy czasowe, przebieg oraz przyczyny. Traktuje również o narodzinach ruchu syjonistycznego i jego wpływie na kształtowanie się idei państwa żydowskiego, a w konsekwencji na powstanie państwa Izrael. Ta praca prezentuje również zarys historyczny konfliktu arabsko-izraelskiego oraz, w odniesieniu do danych statystycznych, opisuje sytuację uchodźców palestyńskich w sąsiednich państwach arabskich: Jordanii, Syrii oraz Libanie, a także na Zachodnim Brzegu oraz w Strefie Gazy. Łącząc zagadnienia historyczne, społeczne oraz kulturowe nawiązuje do zjawiska, jakim jest zrodzenie się tożsamości palestyńskiej i ukazuje jej wpływ na współczesną literaturę palestyńską oraz jej wybranych twórców prozaika- Ġassāna Kanāfanīego oraz poety- Maḥmūda Darwīša. Ponadto, autorka pracy przedstawia tragiczne aspekty rzeczywistości palestyńskiej, tj. przymusowej emigracji, utraty majątku czy straty bliskich. Na kanwie wybranych utworów Ġassāna Kanāfanīego oraz Maḥmūda Darwīša odzwierciedla smutek, ból, strach oraz nadzieję, które towarzyszą Palestyńczykom na co dzień.

This thesis shows the fate of the Palestinian people after the establishment of the State of Israel on the basis of historical knowledge and Modern Palestinian Literature . Exposes the history of Palestine, from the nineteenth century to the twenty-first century. Discusses Jewish settlement on its territory, trying to determine its time frame, the course and the reasons. Also deals with the birth of the Zionist movement and its impact on the development of the idea of a Jewish State, and consequently on the establishment of the State of Israel. This work also presents a historical review of the Arab-Israeli conflict and, with respect to the statistical data, describes the situation of Palestinian refugees in neighboring Arab countries: Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, as well as the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Combining historical, social and cultural aspects refers to the phenomenon of the birth of the palestinian identity and manifests its influence on Modern Palestinian Literature and on its selected creators: Ġassān Kanāfanī and Maḥmūd Darwīš. In addition, the author of the work is focusing on the tragic aspects of palestinian reality, ie. The forced emigration, loss of property or loss of loved ones. On the basis of selected works of Ġassān Kanāfanī and Maḥmūda Darwīša reflects the sadness, pain, fear and hope that accompany Palestinians in their everyday life.
