Murals in the city space on the example of Bielsko-Biala

Rosnącą popularność murali w tkance miejskiej była główną motywacją do podjęcia badań nad tym zjawiskiem. W pracy została przybliżona ogólna geneza oraz pojęcie muralu. Opisano także funkcje jakie, pełni to wielkoformatowe malowidło w życiu społecznym. Uwagę głównie skupiono na muralach znajdujących się w mieście Bielsko-Biała, dlatego dokonano krótkiej charakterystyki obszaru badań, a następnie poddano szczegółowej analizie wielkoformatowe malowidła znajdujące się w obrębie granic tej jednostki administracyjnej. Dodatkowo w pracy została zamieszczona mapa przedstawiająca lokalizacje tych malowideł. Mieszkańców Bielska-Białej poproszono o wypełnienie krótkiego kwestionariusza osobowego dotyczącego murali, który miał na celu sprawdzenie opinii publicznej na temat tego zjawiska, a także wiedzy o jego występowaniu w ich mieście.

Increasing popularity of murals in urban tissue was the main motivation for research into this phenomenon. The general definition, genesis and concept of murals are described in the dissertation. The functions of this large format mural in social life was also described. Attention was mainly focused on murals located in Bielsko-Biała, so a short description of the researched area was described and detailed analysis of large-format paintings within the boundaries of this administrative unit. In addition, a map showing the locations of these paintings was added. The inhabitants of Bielsko-Biała were asked to complete a short personal questionnaire about murals, which aimed at verifying the public opinion about the phenomenon, as well as the knowledge of their existence in the city.
