Cultural heritage management in Muzeum Regionalne Ziemi Limanowskiej

The content of this paper concerns heritage management, which is a relatively new problem in the field of humanistic science. This concept has a multi –faceted and a multidimensional nature, is developing dynamically and its importance is still growing. The research of this publication specifically concerns the Muzeum Regionalne Ziemi Limanowskiej and the activities that this institution undertakes towards managing the cultural heritage of the region. This dissertation presents an exploration of forms and conditions in which the museum functions and the impact it has on the regional cultural heritage. The following text elaborates the matters related to the issues and meaning of the cultural heritage in the contemporary world with a specific account to heritage of Limanowa, what is more it evaluates the work of the institution. The research contains of qualitative analytical techniques including participatory observation and interviews with employees of the museum. SWOT analysis is used to interpret the gathered data. The research proved that Muzeum Regionalne Ziemi Limanowskiej is a growth oriented institution and it improves the quality of its work especially in the matter of guarding the regional heritage. The heritage management is accomplished by implementation of goals, tasks and plans of the institution.

Treść niniejszej pracy dotyczy zarządzania dziedzictwem kulturowym, co stanowi relatywnie nowe zagadnienie na polu nauk humanistycznych. Pojęcie to ma charakter wieloaspektowy oraz wielowymiarowy, dynamicznie się rozwija a jego znaczenie wciąż wzrasta. W sposób szczególny przedmiotem badań tejże publikacji jest Muzeum Regionalne Ziemi Limanowskiej oraz działania jakie instytucja ta podejmuje w kierunku zarządzania dziedzictwem kulturowym regionu. W pracy zaprezentowano eksplorację form i warunków funkcjonowania instytucji oraz jej wpływu na stan dziedzictwa kulturowego ziemi limanowskiej. Omówiono kwestie związane z dziedzictwem kulturowym i jego problematyką oraz znaczeniem we współczesnym świecie, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem dziedzictwa Limanowej i okolic, przeprowadzono również diagnozę działalności Muzeum Regionalnego Ziemi Limanowskiej. W badaniach wykorzystano metody jakościowe, w tym obserwację uczestniczące i wywiady przeprowadzone z pracownikami instytucji. W interpretacji materiału z badań wykorzystano SWOT – podstawowe narzędzie analizy strategicznej używane w zarządzaniu organizacjami. Badania wykazały, iż Muzeum Regionalne Ziemi Limanowskiej jest instytucją nastawioną na rozwój i poprawę warunków swojej działalności, szczególnie w perspektywie opieki nad dziedzictwem regionu. Proces zarządzania dziedzictwem odbywa się poprzez realizację zadań, celów oraz planów instytucji.
