Theoretical approaches to ellipse as mean of expression associated with valency

Die vorliegende Arbeit wird den Ellipsen gewidmet. Als Ziel wird vorgenommen, die Ellipse zu bestimmen, ihre charakteristischen Eigenschaften zu beschreiben, auf Bedingungen, unter welchen sie in Wort und Schrift auftreten können, hinzuweisen und einzelne Arten der Ellipse zu unterscheiden. In dem ersten Kapitel wird die Valenz allgemein definiert, weil die Valenz absolute Grundlage ist, um das Phänomen der elliptischen Ausdrücke zu verstehen. Im nächsten Kapitel wird der Versuch unternommen, die Ellipse zu bestimmen. Damit wird ihre Eigenschaften, Struktur und Anwendung gemeint. Verschiedene Gliederungen nach Arten der Ellipsen mit den Beispielen werden in dem dritten Kapitel genannt.Dieses Problem, d.h. elliptische Ausdrücke, wird ergriffen, weil im Alltag nicht immer oder nur selten bemerkt wird, wie wichtige Rolle Ellipse als Ausdrucksmittel und Ausdrucksvariante in Gesprächen, Texten und Kommunikation spielt. Es unterliegt keinem Zweifel, dass die Ellipse die zwischenmenschliche Kommunikation leichter, natürlicher und ökonomischer macht.

Przedmiotem przedłożonej pracy są wyrażenia eliptyczne i ich cechy. Praca dzieli się na pięć rozdziałów opatrzonych wprowadzeniem. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie wybranych językoznawczych typologii oraz uwydatnienie istoty fenomenu elipsy w języku, przede wszystkim, mówionym. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony jest walencji, która, bez wątpienia, uchodzi za zagadnienie fundamentalne, jeżeli chodzi o zrozumienie zjawiska elipsy. Pokrótce zostało w tym rozdziale przybliżone pojęcie walencji i jej cech. Drugi rozdział skupia się na próbie zdefiniowania elipsy, co nie należy do prostych zadań, ponieważ istnieje wiele trudności w środowisku naukowym związanych ze skonstruowaniem jednolitej definicji. Trzeci, najobszerniejszy rozdział, to przedstawienie trzech wybranych typologii, kolejno według Wolfganga Kleina, Ursuli Krevs Birk oraz Ludgera Hoffmanna. Każda z nich została opatrzona przykładami lub/i komentarzami w przypadku, gdy występowały braki w obrębie definicji czy wyjaśnień samego autora typologii. W czwartym rozdziale została podjęta próba porównania przywołanych typologii, co miało na celu ukazanie tego, że różne terminy kryją te same definicje u różnych badaczy. Piąty rozdział zawiera kilka próbek tekstu, wyszukanych na forach internetowych i portalach informacyjnych, które zostały poddane analizie. Treścią ostatniej części pracy są wnioski końcowe i krótkie podsumowanie.

The subject of the submitted BA dissertation are elliptical expressions and its characteristics. The BA dissertation is consisted of five chapters provided with introduction. The aim of this BA dissertation is presenting of several linguistic typologies of the ellipse and accentuation of its importance chiefly in everyday speech. The first chapter is attended to valency, which is the absolutely basis to understand this phenomenon. In this chapter were briefly described the definition and essential features. The content of the second chapter is an attempt at defining of the term ellipse and this attempt can cause some troubles due to incidence a lot of different linguistic terms. The third chapter is the most lengthy and includes three typologies: Wolfgang Klein‘s typology, Ursula Krevs Birk‘s typology and Ludgar Hoffmann‘s typology. In the fourth chapter were compared these three typologies to depict differences and similarities. The fifth chapter is concentrated on analyzing of texts from the Internet to find various types of ellipse. At the end there is conclusion and short summary.
