House of Robert Schuman : from the layout of a local history to the elaboration of an european memory/historiography

In this thesis is explained the way in which Robert Schuman is told in his house of Scy-Chazelles. The narrative of his private and public life is told in this place through a museum of Europe and the traditional house where he used to live. The latter looks like a very humble and common housing. Nevertheless, the layout of the house, as well as an important number of elements stemming from his public life, are there in his private domain. Moreover, many references to his political duties are hidden through the authentic objects that are spread out in the house. Thus, the house seems to exhibit a way of living and doing politics that is now gone. The rituals followed within and around the house also help to constitute this narrative through the daily life of the house.

Dans ce texte est transcrite la manière dont Robert Schuman est raconté dans sa maison de Scy-Chazelles. Le récit de sa vie privée et publique est raconté dans ce lieu par le biais d’un muséedu projet européen et la demeure traditionnelle où il a vécu. Cette dernière a l'apparence d'unhabitat très simple et fort humble. Il ressort néanmoins de l'aménagement de la maison qu'ungrand nombre d'éléments de sa vie publique sont présents dans son domaine privé, et que denombreuses références à son statut sont dissimulées à travers les objets authentiques quicomposent sa maison. Le trait caractéristique développé par cette maison semble alorsl'exposition d'une manière de faire et vivre la politique révolue, qui est célébrée dans lesdifférents rituels qui constituent la vie quotidienne de la demeure.
