Multilingualism in the novel of Sergiusz Piasecki "The lover of the Great Bear"

W mojej pracy badam wielojęzyczność w powieści Sergiusza Piaseckiego pt. Kochanek Wielkiej Niedźwiedzicy. Akcja powieści toczy się na kresach północno-wschodnich w środowisku przemytniczym. W dialogach bohaterów pojawiają się różne odmiany językowe: dialekt kresowy, zapożyczenia z języka rosyjskiego oraz język środowiskowy przemytników. Skupiam się na analizie tych zjawisk oraz ich funkcji w powieści Piaseckiego.

In my dissertation I’m writing about multilingualism in the novel of Sergiusz Piasecki The lover of the Great Bear. The action is situated on the border of Poland and Soviet Union and treats about smugglers. Due to that fact, in the novel there is a original mixture of few variants of the language: regional variant, borrowing Russian words and specific language of smugglers. I will focus on detailed analysis of these variants and notify their function in the novel.
