Portuguese road to democracy and a stable system of government between 19th and 21st century - social and political analysis

This MA thesis deals with the Portuguese road to democracy and a stable system of government - from first constitutions of the nineteenth century to the present day. The description of the most important events that took place during the analyzed period (the end of the colonial power of Portugal, the collapse of the monarchy, the Salazar government, the Carnation Revolution and the 1976 constitution), are complemented by reflections on the socio-political situation and its impact on the development of Portuguese democracy.

Praca magisterska traktuje o portugalskiej drodze do demokracji i stabilnego systemu rządów - od czasów pierwszych konstytucji z XIX wieku aż po dzień dzisiejszy. Opis najważniejszych wydarzeń poddanego analizie okresu (kres potęgi kolonialnej Portugalii, upadek monarchii, rządy Salazara, Rewolucja Goździków i uchwalenie Konstytucji z 1976 roku), uzupełniony jest o przemyślenia na temat sytuacji społeczno-politycznej i jej wpływu na rozwój portugalskiej demokracji.
