The sensuality of short stories of Bruno Schulz in the context of selected issues of philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty

Praca stanowi próbę odczytania dwóch cykli opowiadań Brunona Schulza w kontekście najważniejszych założeń filozofii Maurice’a Merleau-Ponty’ego. Autorka proponuje nowe ujęcie zawartej w nich problematyki nawiązując do koncepcji ucieleśnionego umysłu. Obraną przez nią metodą badawczą jest fenomenologia egzystencjalna Maurice’a Merleau-Ponty’ego, która stworzyła podstawy dla badań kognitywnych. Zmysłowość rozpatrywana głównie w odniesieniu do tekstu prowadzi autorkę niniejszej pracy do spostrzeżeń na temat związku koncepcji sztuki sformułowanej przez Schulza ze współczesną myślą francuską.

The author attempts to present interpretation of two cycles of Bruno Schulz's short stories in the context of Maurice Merleau-Ponty's most important philosophical assumptions. The author proposes a new approach to them, referring to the concept of an embodied mind. The research method employed by her is Maurice Merleau-Ponty's existential phenomenology, which has created the basis for cognitive research. Sensuality considered mainly in relation to the text leads the author of this paper to the observations on the connection between Schulz's concept of art and contemporary French philosophy.
