Between conflict and cooperation. The dynamics of identity - example of palestinian-lebanese mixed marriages .

The objective of this paper is to attempt to analyse phenomenon of palestinian-lebanese mixed marriages by focusing on two levels of social life - daily life of inhabitants, and level occupied by political/public discourse. Taking into account historical, cultural and social context as the primary reference value I’m trying to understand which one of the identity categories – religion, ethnicity or class- plays the biggest role in the decision-making process of involving oneself into mixed marriages.

Niniejsza praca podejmuje się prześledzenia dynamiki tożsamości na przykładzie małżeństw mieszanych palestyńsko-libańskich, oraz próbuje odpowiedzieć na pytanie, która z kategorii tożsamościowych – religia, klasa czy etniczność, odgrywa największą rolę w podjęciu decyzji o zaangażowaniu się w małżeństwo mieszane.
