Le métier de traducteur spécialisé dans les traductions juridiques, médicales et sportives.

Specialized translations belong to tasks that are problematic for both laymen and experts. The author of the thesis presents specificities of the profession in law, medicine and sports translations. The aim of the study is to compare three different sectors in respect of Translation Studies and sociology, to define the ideal specialized translator profile and to indicate which one of those three specializations seems the most attractive. The proper analysis is preceded by a presentation of linguistic knowledge necessary for specialized profession. It includes description of language for special purposes as well as characteristics of specialized texts and their translation.

Tłumaczenia specjalistyczne należą do zadań sprawiających problemy zarówno laikom, jak i specjalistom z danej branży. Autor niniejszej rozprawy przedstawia specyfiki zawodu, biorąc pod uwagę dziedziny prawa, medycyny i sportu. Celem pracy jest porównanie trzech odmiennych sektorów pod kątem traduktologicznym i socjologicznym, zakreślenie idealnego profilu tłumacza specjalistycznego oraz wskazanie najatrakcyjniejszej spośród wymienionych specjalności. Analizę wybranych dziedzin poprzedza opis wiedzy językowej niezbędnej do wykonywania zawodu. Obejmuje on pojęcia języka specjalistycznego, jak również charakterystykę tekstów specjalistycznych i ich tłumaczeń.

Les traductions spécialisées représentent une tâche qui pose différents problèmes aussi bien aux profanes qu'aux experts en la matière. L'auteur du présent mémoire présente certaines des spécificités de la profession spécialisée, en prenant comme exemple le droit, la médecine et le sport. L'objectif du mémoire est de comparer trois domaines divers sous l'angle traductologique et sociologique, de préciser le profil du traducteur spécialisé idéal et d’indiquer laquelle des trois spécialités paraît la plus attrayante. L'analyse des trois domaines est précédée d’une présentation de connaissances linguistiques nécessaires à l’exercice du métier. Elle englobe une description de langue de spécialité ainsi qu’une caractéristique des textes spécialisés et de leur traduction.
