Narzędzia retoryczne w przemówieniu Mitta Romneya

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza wpływu wybranych narzędzi retorycznych oraz aktów mowy na interpretację i odbiór przemówienia politycznego oraz efektu jaki zastosowane narzędzia mogą wywrzeć na odbiorców. Jako materiał do analizy posłużyło przemówienie Mitt’a Romney’a wygłoszone na Kongresie Republikanów w 2012 roku. Praca składa się z dwóch rozdziałów. Pierwszy z nich jest rozdziałem teoretycznym, w którym przedstawione zostały aspekty takie jak: retoryka polityczna, pragmatyka, akty mowy oraz narzędzia retoryczne. W drugim rozdziale analizie poddane zostały wybrane narzędzie retoryczne i akty mowy z przemówienia Romney’a. W analizie i konkluzjach pokazane zostało jak wybrane narzędzia retoryczne i akty mowy mogą oddziaływać na słuchaczy i jaki wpływ mają na odbiór przemówienia. The aim of this thesis is to indicate how rhetorical devices and speech acts implemented in a political speech may influence its message and the interpretation of a speech. Mitt Romney’s speech delivered at the Republican National Convention in 2012 serves as an example for the analysis. The thesis consists of two chapters. The first chapter provides a theoretical framework for the further study and features topics like political rhetoric, persuasion, speech acts and rhetorical devices. In the second chapter chosen rhetorical devices and speech acts from Romney’s speech are analyzed. The analysis and conclusions present the impact that rhetorical devices and speech acts may have on the listeners and how they influence the message of the speech.
