Facade of the Missionary Church on Stradom as a conservational issue

The paper depicts maintenance of the facade of The Missionary Church on Stradom. It describes the history of church construction and the problem of its unfinished facade. Presented were also the ideas of XX century researches about the primary shape of the facade based on the analogy with the style in architecture among the St. Lucas Academy and other sacred baroque buildings. What is more, the paper discusses actions undertaken to finalise building church's facade, unrealised projects of architects Stanislaw Eliasz, Jan Sas- Zubrzycki and Zygmunt Hendel, and also works under Wiktor Zin's direction. Finally, The problem of finishing the facade in the context of the conservation doctrines was portrayed as well.

Praca porusza temat konserwacji fasady kościoła Misjonarzy na Stradomiu. Opisano w niej dzieje budowy kościoła oraz problem jego niedokończonej fasady. Przedstawione zostały koncepcje XX- wiecznych badaczy na temat pierwotnego kształtu fasady na podstawie analogii w architekturze kręgu Akademii św. Łukasza oraz innych budowli sakralnych czasu baroku. W pracy przedstawiono działania zmierzające do ukończenia fasady kościoła Misjonarzy, niezrealizowane projekty architektów Stanisława Eliasza, Jana Sasa- Zubrzyckiego oraz Zygmunta Hendla, a także przeprowadzone prace pod kierownictwem Wiktora Zina. Poruszono również problematykę ukończenia fasady w kontekście obowiązujących doktryn konserwatorskich.
