Aggression of patients in General Surgery Clinic and Hospital Emergency Department

Obecnie zjawisko agresji nie jest obce żadnemu człowiekowi. Bardzo często człowiek ma w życiu do czynienia z sytuacjami, w których występuje przemoc. Wśród teorii mówiących o genezie agresji możemy wyróżnić teorię ewolucji czy teorię neopsychoanalityczną. Przyczyn wystąpienia agresji jest bardzo wiele. Należą do nich: czynniki genetyczne, czynniki społecznoekonomiczne, czynniki sytuacyjne. Skutki zachowań agresywnych dotyczą osoby podejmującej akt agresji czy też ludzi wobec, których podejmowana jest agresja bądź przedmiotów. Szpital jest miejscem leczenia, dochodzenia pacjenta do zdrowia. Często jednak staje się na początku źródłem bólu, cierpienia, rozczarowania. Człowiek zna różne sposoby wyładowywania negatywnych emocji, wśród nich można wyróżnić zachowania agresywne. Wtedy to właśnie personel medyczny staje się pierwszą osobą, która odbiera incydenty agresji. Skutki takich zachowań są różne i mogą nawet mieć swoje odbicie w ciągu kilku lat po ataku agresji.Celem pracy było przedstawienie częstości występowania zjawisk agresji wśród personelu medycznego. Celem pracy było także wykazanie czynników ryzyka oraz stopnia w jakim mają one wpływ na wystąpienie agresji. Celem badania było także zobrazowanie jakie konsekwencje może nieść ze sobą agresja oraz jakie działania są podejmowane w chwili wystąpienia tego zjawiska. Uzyskane wyniki mogą zostać wykorzystane do zaprojektowania poradnika radzenia sobie z pacjentem agresywnym dla osób pracujących w środowisku medycznym.W pierwszej i drugiej części zostały scharakteryzowane aspekty teoretyczne agresji wśród całego społeczeństwa jak i wśród personelu medycznego. Natomiast w trzeciej części przedstawiono metody badawcze, materiały, narzędzia oraz charakterystykę grupy badawczej. W kolejnych częściach zostały zobrazowane wyniki badań oraz wnioski.

Currently, the phenomenon of aggression is not unfamiliar to any human being. The person has to deal with situations of violence in life very often. Among the theories about the genesis of aggression we can distinguish theory of evolution or neo-analytical theory. There are a lot of causes of aggression. These include: genetic factors, socioeconomic factors, situational factors. The effects of aggressive behavior apply to the person who takes the act of aggression or towards people to whom aggression or objects are taken.The hospital is the place of medical treatment, the patient's recovery. Nonetheless, it frequently becomes a source of pain, suffering, disappointment in the beginning. A man knows different ways of relieving negative emotions, among them aggressive behavior can be distinguished. This is the moment when the medical staff becomes the first person who receives aggression incidents. The effects of such behaviors are different and may even have their impact within a few years after an aggression attack.The aim of the study was to present the frequency of aggression among medical personnel. The purpose of the work was also to show the risk factors and the extent to which they influence the occurrence of aggression. The purpose of the study was to illustrate the consequences of aggression and what kind of actions are taken at the time of the occurrence. The results can be used to design an aggressive patient management guide for people working in a medical setting.In the first and second part the theoretical aspects of aggression among the whole society as well as among the medical staff have been characterized. The third part presents the research methods, materials, tools and characteristics of the research group. In the following sections the research results and conclusions were visualized.
