European Union funds in Poland as support for small and medium enterprises

Niniejsza praca magisterska jest poświęcona wyjaśnieniu roli funduszy unijnych w rozwoju małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw w Polsce, o ile ta grupa podmiotów stanowi największy udział w rozwoju gospodarki kraju. Wsparcie sektora MŚP z unijnych środków pomocowych jest ważne również ze względu na małą dostępność innych źródeł dla tych podmiotów, spowodowaną szczególnymi cechami MŚP, omawianymi w poniższych rozdziałach. Praca jest skierowana na porównanie różnych źródeł finansowania MŚP, a główny nacisk położono na jedno z najbardziej dostępnych i atrakcyjnych źródeł – unijne fundusze pomocowe. W szczególności, praca dotyczy wyjaśnienia pojęcia, istoty i celów funduszy, a także opisu procedury starania się o pomoc, badania możliwości uzyskania tej pomocy oraz analizy wyników udzielanej pomocy w poprzednim okresie dotacji.

This thesis is dedicated to explaining the role of EU funds in the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Poland, provided that this group of entities is the largest contributor to the development of the country's economy. Support for the SME sector from EU funding is also important because of the low availability of other sources for these entities due to the specific characteristics of SMEs discussed in the following chapters. The work is aimed at comparing the different sources of financing for SMEs, with the main focus being on one of the most accessible and attractive sources - EU aid funds. In particular, the paper deals with clarifying the concept, substance and purpose of the funds, as well as the description of the procedure for seeking assistance, examining the possibilities for obtaining this assistance, and analyzing the results of the aid granted in the previous grant period.
