This article discusses the activities of Stanisław Długosz (1892-1915) in the Polish irredentist movement in the years 1908-1914. He was, among others, a member of the Kraków academic association Znicz, the Polish Shooting Society, and joined the Polish Legions during the First World War. He was killed in military clashes near Lubartów in the Lublin province on 6 August 1915. The author puts special emphasis on his literary/poetic heritage, which made him a bard for his generation.
