Elicitation and integration of seniors in the local environment. On the exampleof activities and projects in the XVIII district of Krakow -Nowa Huta

The aim of this research work is to recognize whether the activities carried out by various institutions, people and groups in the 18th Krakow quarter - Nowa Huta contribute to the increase of seniors' activity in the local environment and have an impact on meeting their needs, including the need to contact other people and self-fulfillment . The theoretical part is devoted to the description of a senior's situation in society, including the quality of his life in Poland, by data from 2016, and activation of older people in the living environment at three levels: national, provincial and local. The second part of the work presents the methodological assumptions of the research. In my research, I used the method of qualitative field tests. The techniques I used were data analysis, focus tests and qualitative interviews. The respondents were elderly people from the 18th District and three administrators of activities addressed to seniors: District Councilor, coordinator of the Senior Activity Center and the leader of the local community. In the last part of the work I present the analysis of the research results carried out in order to clarify the research problem, which showed, among others, that seniors from Nowa Huta are active and benefit from institutional offers, and, accordingly, strengthened, they are able to take initiatives in the local environment.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest rozpoznanie czy działania prowadzone przez różne instytucje, osoby i grupy w Dzielnicy XVIII Krakowa – Nowa Huta przyczyniają się do wzrostu aktywności seniorów w środowisku lokalnym i mają wpływ na zaspokajanie ich potrzeb, w tym potrzeby kontaktu z innymi ludźmi oraz samorealizacji i samorozwoju. Część teoretyczna poświęcona jest opisowi sytuacji seniora w społeczeństwie, w tym jakości jego życia w Polsce wg. danych z 2016 roku, oraz aktywizacji ludzi starszych w środowisku życia na trzech szczeblach: krajowym, wojewódzkim i lokalnym. Druga część pracy przedstawia założenia metodologiczne badań. W badaniach posługiwałam się metodą jakościowych badań terenowych. Techniki jakich użyłam to analiza danych, badanie fokusowe oraz wywiad jakościowy. Respondentami były osoby starsze z terenu Dzielnicy XVIII oraz trzech organizatorów działań kierowanych do seniorów: Radna dzielnicy, koordynator Centrum Aktywności Seniora oraz lider społeczności lokalnej. W ostatniej części pracy przedstawiam analizę wyników badań zrealizowanych w celu wyjaśnienia problemu badawczego, która wykazała m.in., iż seniorzy z terenu Nowej Huty są aktywni i korzystają z ofert instytucjonalnych, a także, odpowiednio wzmacniani, potrafią sami podejmować inicjatywy w środowisku lokalnym.
