Wspólnota religijna jako zjawisko determinujące u jednostek wykluczonych proces wyjścia z marginesu społecznego

The problem of social exclusion is a very disturbing occurrence that is of interest to many sociologists. Individuals affected by the occurrence of social exclusion display several characteristic including: lack of security, loneliness, vulnerability, passivity, feelings of deprivation and stigmatisation. The features mentioned are a substitute for the life situation of excluded individuals. This is a big threat aimed at the sense of individual’s dignity and their advisability of existence. However, to meet the above mentioned problems, the religious community becomes a society that provides for the excluded people with what they have lost along with the ongoing process of marginalisation. The functional dimension of religion and the specificity of the community occurrence significantly affects the changes in the life of the excluded. Therefore this work will concern excluded people who together in the moment of joining the religious community initiated the process of leaving the social margin.

Problem wykluczenia społecznego jest niezmiernie niepokojącym zjawiskiem stanowiącym przedmiot zainteresowania wielu socjologów. Jednostki dotknięte zjawiskiem wykluczenia społecznego przejawiają szereg cech wspólnych, m.in.: brak poczucia bezpieczeństwa, samotność, bezbronność, bierność, poczucie deprywacji oraz stygmatyzacji. Wymienione cechy są jedynie namiastką ogromu negatywnych skutków charakterystycznych dla sytuacji życiowej jednostek wykluczonych. Stanowi to duże zagrożenie wymierzone w poczucie godności jednostki oraz celowości jej egzystencji. Jednakże naprzeciw wymienionym powyżej problemom staje wspólnota religijna, która dostarcza osobom wykluczonym to, co utracili wraz z postępującym procesem marginalizacji. Funkcjonalny wymiar religii oraz specyfika zjawiska wspólnoty istotnie wpływa na zmianę kształtu życia jednostek wykluczonych. Zatem niniejsza praca dotyczyć będzie osób wykluczonych, u których wraz z momentem wstąpienia do wspólnoty religijnej zapoczątkowany został proces wyjścia z marginesu społecznego.
