Women on the Imperial Throne of Japan - the portrayal and analysis of the current situation and socio-historical background

This work presents the women on the imperial Throne of Japan in the context of the current situation related to the inheritance of the throne. The first chapter contains information on legal regulations and current realities. The following chapters are devoted to the analysis of the historical and social background from the reign of the first Empress Suiko to the Meiji Constitution and the changes that have taken place in Japanese society, taking into account the position and rights of women up to modern times.

Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest kobietom zasiadającym na tronie cesarskim w Japonii w kontekście aktualnej sytuacji związanej z dziedziczeniem tronu. Pierwszy rozdział zawiera informacje na temat regulacji prawnych oraz obecnych realiów. Kolejne rozdziały poświęcone są analizie tła historyczno-społecznego od panowania pierwszej cesarzowej Suiko, aż po Konstytucję Meiji oraz przemianom jakie zaszły w społeczeństwie japońskim, z uwzględnieniem pozycji i praw kobiet aż po czasy współczesne.
