Motivation of employees in public schools

The topic of this thesis is motivation of employees in public schools. The thesis consist of six chapters. On the beginning are described the theories of motivation. The second part shows the result of research. The purpose of this study was to investigate how particular factors influence on teachers and indicate the sources of motivation. The research was conducted among the teachers who work in public schools. The results of the study discovered that contact with pupils have a big influence on motivation of teachers. However earnings seems to be the most demotivating factor. The respondents know the professional promotion system. The results of the research shows also how important is the role of school director in the process of motivation. All in all, the results of conducted research can help to introduce important changes in education system, which help to increase teacher motivation.

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest motywacja nauczycieli do pracy w szkołach publicznych. Celem przeprowadzonych badań było zebranie informacji, jak poszczególne czynniki wpływają na motywację nauczycieli do pracy. Badania zostały przeprowadzone za pomocą kwestionariusza składającego się z 20 pytań. Po przeanalizowaniu zebranych wyników potwierdziły się wszystkie hipotezy badawcze. Odpowiedzi respondentów pokazują, że praca z uczniem jest czynnikiem najbardziej motywującym. Natomiast zarobki sprawiają, że nauczyciele bardzo często myślą o zmianie pracy. Wyniki badań potwierdziły także znajomość systemu awansu zawodowego oraz ogromną rolę, jaką odgrywa osoba dyrektora w procesie motywacji nauczycieli. Podsumowując, wyniki przeprowadzonych ankiet mogą posłużyć za wskazówkę, co powinno zostać zmienione, aby zwiększyć motywację nauczycieli.
