The mechanisms of coping with debt crisis - selected exaples

Celem pracy jest analiza zjawiska zadłużenia publicznego zarówno w aspekcie teoretycznym jak i praktycznym. Opisuje ona ogólną wiedzę na temat długu publicznego, jego finansowania i rozmiarów, które wpływają na funkcjonowanie gospodarki oraz państwa. Omawia również przypadki nadmiernie zadłużonych państw - Grecji, Irlandii i Japonii. Opisane są przyczyny wystąpienia trudności, podjęte działania oraz ich skutki, a także przewidywania co do dalszych ich losów. Praca ma za zadanie również skonfrontować twierdzenia teoretyczne z praktycznym ich stosowaniem. Analizie poddano zarówno literaturę jak i dane statystyczne.

The aim of the thesis was to analyze the phenomenon of public debt both practically and theorethically. General knowledge about the public debt, its financing and size which impact the way state and economy operates were described. The thesis also introduced three cases of excessively indebted countries – Greece, Ireland and Japan. The reasons for the difficulties which have had arosen in countries' economy were also characterised as well as actions taken in order to counteract them. Consequences of those actions and predictions as to the further fate of the countries were presented. The thesis is supposed to confront theoretical statements with their practical application. Lierature and statistical data were analyzed in order to answer the questions.
