Global Governance jako próba ustanowienia nowego porządku na świecie u schyłku XX wieku

The aim of this work is to analyze the concept of global governance, its place in the selected theories of international relations and the importance of non-state actors in the world system. At the beginning of the work, analysis and comparison of various definitions of the term global governance were made and its place in the scientific debate was shown. In the later part of the work, the concept of global governance described from the perspective of the three leading theories of international relations, i.e. realism, liberalism and constructivism. The role and influence of non-state actors are also shown in shaping of the international system. In this work I try to prove that, despite the criticism directed towards the concept of global governance, its importance in contemporary international relations, it is still important. Moreover, the changes that occur within the international system i.e. increase in the importance of non-state actors indicate that the concept of global governance seems to be a good approach in explaining these changes.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza koncepcji global governance, jej miejsce w wybranych teoriach stosunków międzynarodowych oraz znaczenie aktorów niepaństwowych w systemie światowym. Na początku pracy dokonano analizy i zestawienia różnych definicji terminu global governance oraz pokazano jego miejsce w debacie naukowej. W dalszej części pracy, koncepcję global governance opisano z perspektywy trzech wiodących teorii stosunków międzynarodowych tj. realizmu, liberalizmu i konstruktywizmu. Pokazano także rolę i wpływ aktorów niepaństwowych na kształtowanie systemu międzynarodowego. W pracy staram się udowodnić, iż pomimo krytyki kierowanej w stronę koncepcji global governance, jej znaczenie we współczesnych stosunkach międzynarodowych, jest nadal istotne. Co więcej, zmiany które zachodzą w ramach systemu międzynarodowego, tj. wzrost znaczenia uczestników innych niż państwo, wskazują iż koncepcja global governance zdaje się być dobrym podejściem w wyjaśnianiu tych zmian.
