Norwegian and Finnish childens books on the Polish publishing market in the XXI century

The purpose of this dissertation was to discuss the publishing movement and the reception of Norwegian and Finnish children’s books on the Polish market in the 21st century, to analyse publications from both countries in the Polish publishing offer and to indicate the characteristic features of both literatures, as well as the proposed topics, values and the innovative approach to a child audience. It attempted to determine the basis by which Polish publishers for children select titles from Norwegian and Finnish publishing offers and whether there are any criteria for their choice or elements that are desired by publishers. The general picture of children's literature from both countries was analysed from the perspective of Polish publications and an attempt was made to compare it with the reality of publishing markets in Norway and Finland. Attention was drawn to the progressive approach of Norwegian and Finnish children's authors towards the young reader and its uniqueness in comparison with the position from the domestic publishing offer was emphasized.

Celem niniejszej dysertacji było omówienie ruchu wydawniczego i recepcji norweskich i fińskich książek dla dzieci na rynku polskim w XXI wieku, analiza publikacji z obu krajów znajdujących się w polskiej ofercie wydawniczej oraz wskazanie na cechy charakterystyczne obu literatur, a także proponowane tematy, wartości i odkrywcze podejście do dziecięcego odbiorcy. Próbowano ustalić, na jakiej podstawie polskie wydawnictwa dziecięce wybierają tytuły z oferty norweskiej i fińskiej i czy istnieją jakieś kryteria ich doboru albo pożądane przez wydawców elementy. Przeanalizowano ogólny obraz literatury dziecięcej z obu państw z perspektywy wydanych w Polsce pozycji i podjęto próbę skonfrontowania go z rzeczywistością rynków wydawniczych w Norwegii i Finlandii. Zwrócono uwagę na progresywne podejście norweskich i fińskich autorów dziecięcych do młodego czytelnika i podkreślono jego wyjątkowość na tle pozycji z rodzimej oferty wydawniczej.
