The origin of names and mythological significance of the selected mountains of Iran.

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest pochodzenie nazw wybranych gór Iranu, mitów z nimi związanych i ich znaczenia mitologicznego. Celem pracy jest omówienie możliwego pochodzenia nazw wybranych gór mitycznych i współczesnych oraz przedstawienie związanych z nimi wierzeń i mitów. W rozdziale pierwszym zaprezentowano ogólną charakterystykę geografii Iranu i jego największych łańcuchów górskich, w rozdziale drugim zawarto genezę i ogólną budowę świata mitycznego, natomiast w trzecim przedstawiono analizę nazw wybranych gór, ich ogólną charakterystykę i mity z nimi związane.

The subject of this paper is the origin of names of the selected mountains of Iran, myths associated with them and their mythological significance. The aim of the thesis is to discuss the possible origin of the names of the selected mythological and modern mountains and to present the assiocated myths and beliefs. The first part of the thesis presents the general characteristics of the geography of Iran and its largest mountain ranges, the second chapter contains the genesis and general structure of the mythical world, while the third one presents the analysis of the names of the selected mountains, their general characteristics and the myths assiocated with them.
