Popkulturowy fenomen utworu „Szomorú vasárnap”.

The aim of this thesis is to present Szomorú vasárnap as a pop culture phenomenon. The song called the Hungarian suicide song was written in Hungary in the 1930s, in times of political and economic instability. Its success was born on the eve of World War II and the moods within the society at that time contributed to the ban on the song’s radio broadcasting. To this day, the song is a source of inspiration for artists from the world of music, film or lite-rature. Its great popularity was influenced by i.a. city legends about the dangerous influence of the melody on the listeners. The thesis deals with issues related to popular culture in theory, the circumstances of the creation of the song while outlining the political realities of Hungary at that time, the place the song takes within the products of popular culture and the inter-pretation of the lyrical layer. The leitmotif of the research was showing the history of the song, examples of its occurrence in pop culture and the significance of the urban legend associated with it.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest próba przedstawienia utworu Szomorú vasárnap jako fenomenu popkulturowego. Piosenka nazywana węgierskim hymnem samobójców powstała na Węgrzech w latach 30. XX wieku, w czasach politycznej i gospodarczej niestabilności. Jej sukces narodził się w przededniu II Wojny Światowej, a obecne w tym czasie nastroje społeczne przyczyniły się do zakazu jej odtwarzania w rozgłośniach radiowych. Po dziś dzień piosenka jest źródłem inspiracji dla twórców ze świata muzyki, filmu czy literatury. Na jej wielką popularność wpłynęła m. in. legenda miejska o niebezpiecznym oddziaływaniu melodii na słuchaczy. W pracy podejmowane są kwestie związane z kulturą popularną w ujęciu teoretycznym, okolicznościami powstania piosenki wraz z nakreśleniem ówczesnych realiów politycznych na Węgrzech, miejscem utworu w wytworach kultury popularnej oraz interpretacją warstwy lirycznej. Motywem przewodnim podczas podejmowania problemu badawczego było ukazanie historii piosenki, przykładów jej występowania w popkulturze oraz znaczenia związanej z nią miejskiej legendy.
