Analiza porównawcza dwóch wersji opery "Alceste" Christopha Willibalda Glucka

The work includes a comparative analysis of two versions of Christophe Willibald Gluck's Alceste opera - Italian and French. It begins with a short historical outline regarding the development of opera in Europe (from the first opera forms in the work of Camerata Florenc to the work of Wagner). Subsequently, I focused on Gluck's opera's works, including the so-called the composer's reform and assumptions in relation to the renewal of the genre of the opera. Next, I also showed similarities with Euripides' drama "Alceste" and the opera "Alceste" by Gluck. Subsequently, the conclusions from the comparative analysis in the second and third chapter of the work are presented. The first one shows the aspects of fiction and text, while the next one presents the conclusions regarding the comparison of the melodic layer in both versions of the opera. Finally, it presents a summary comparison of the similarities and differences between the two editions of Gluck's "Alceste" opera. Applications are presented in both written form and in the form of graphs. The work I am presenting draws attention above all to the fact that both versions of the opera differ in every respect. This is related to the political, cultural and social situation in both countries, as well as the fact that the composer writing the second version of the above opera wanted in some way to promote his postulates, which he included in the short introduction to "Alceste", and he couldn't realize them in the original version.

Praca obejmuje analizę porównawczą dwóch wersji opery "Alceste" Christopha Willibalda Glucka - włoską i francuską. Rozpoczyna się ona od krótkiego zarysu historycznego dotyczącego rozwoju opery w Europie (od pierwszych form operowych w twórczości Cameraty Florenckiej po twórczość Wagnera). Kolejno skupiłam się na działalności operowej Glucka, obejmując przy tym tzw. reformę i założenia kompozytora w stosunku do odnowienia gatunku jakim jest opera. Następnie ukazałam także podobieństwa dotyczące dramatu Eurypidesa "Alceste" i opery "Alceste" Glucka. Kolejno przedstawione zostają wnioski z analizy porównawczej w drugim i trzecim rozdziale pracy. Pierwszy z nich ukazuje aspekty fabularne i tekstowe, zaś następny przedstawia wnioski dotyczące porównania warstwy melodycznej w obu wersjach opery. Ostatecznie prezentuje sumaryczne porównanie podobieństw i różnic obu edycji opery "Alceste" Glucka. Wnioski zostają ukazane zarówno w pisemnej postaci, jak i w formie grafów. Prezentowana przeze mnie praca zwraca uwagę przede wszystkim na to, iż obie wersje opery różnią się pod każdym względem. Jest to ustosunkowane sytuacją polityczną, kulturową jak i społeczną w obu krajach, a także faktem, iż kompozytor pisząc drugą wersję powyższej opery chciał w pewien sposób wypromować swoje postulaty, które zawarł w krótkiej przedmowie do "Alceste", a nie do końca potrafił je zrealizować w oryginalnej wersji.
