Bachelor's thesis "Scottish independence ambitions" touches on the problems of Scotland's difficult relationship with the United Kingdom. The aim is to describe the processes and events that are bringing Scotland closer to achieving sovereignty.Chapter I deals with the process of devolution in the United Kingdom, which is delegation of competences from the cental to the regional level. Thanks to it, Scotland has received a lot of rights, much more than Wales or Northern Ireland. Chapter I also shows the relationship between Scotland and the UK since the moment of conclusion of the union in 1707 to year 1998. Chapter II deals with the results of the devolution and gradually expanding competences of Scotland. It presents new institutions and the relationship between Scotand and the EU. Chapter III refers to referenda in 2014 and 2016, showing their genesis and results. It also contains analysis of the potential benefits and threats of achieving independence by Scotland.The work covers: a short summary of history of Scotland in the United Kingdom since 1707 union, the period of Tony Blair's reign and the referenda in 2014 and 2016.

Praca licencjacka "Szkockie ambicje niepodległościowe" porusza problematykę trudnych relacji Szkocji ze Zjednoczonym Królestwem. Celem pracy jest opis procesów i wydarzeń, które przybliżają Szkocję do osiągnięcia suwerenności.Rozdział I dotyczy procesu dewolucji w Zjednoczonym Królestwie, czyli delegacji kompetencji ze szczebla centralnego na regionalny. Dzięki niej Szkocja otrzymała wiele uprawnień, znacznie więcej niż Walia czy Irlandia Północna. Rozdział I ukazuje także stosunki Szkocji z UK od zawarcia unii realnej do 1998 roku. Rozdział II przedstawia skutki dewolucji i stopniowo rozszerzane kompetencje przyznane Szkocji. Opisuje powstałe instytucje oraz relację Szkocji z Unią Europejską. Rozdział III odnosi się do referendów z lat 2014 i 2016, ukazując ich genezę i rezultaty.
