Soviet national politics toward Polish nation minority on territories of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, from korenizatsiya to "Polish Operation" of the NKVD

Presented work attempts to describe the evolution of Soviet authorities’ politics toward the Polish nation minority inhabiting the territory of the USSR, from the 1920s to the era of "Great Terror" and the "Polish Operation" of the NKVD in the second half of the 1930s.The first chapter presents the Soviet policy towards nations, since the communist party began to rule in the Russian empire, throughout Soviet national policy, ending at mass Stalinist repression of the 1930s.The second chapter introduces the application of the Soviet politics in the twenties of the XX century toward the Polish nation minority. It also focuses at structure, distribution and the main centers of the Polish diaspora in the USSR and raises the issue of the national Polish minority's awareness.The third chapter attempts to explain the reasons of departing from the Soviet national policy and use of mass repression by Stalin in the 1930s. It also describes the characteristics for “Polish Operation” of the NKVD.

Prezentowana praca podejmuje próbę zarysowania ewolucji polityki władz radzieckich wobec polskiej mniejszości narodowej, zamieszkującej terytorium ZSRR, od lat dwudziestych XX w., aż do epoki Wielkiego Terroru i „Operacji Polskiej” NKWD w drugiej połowie lat 30.Rozdział pierwszy przedstawia politykę sowiecką względem narodów, od objęcia władzy w byłym Imperium Romanowów, poprzez korienizację, kończąc na masowych, stalinowskich represjach lat trzydziestych.Drugi rozdział przybliża zastosowanie radzieckiej polityki lat dwudziestych XX wieku wobec mniejszości polskiej. Zwraca również uwagę na strukturę, rozmieszczenie i główne skupiska Polonii w ZSRR. Porusza kwestie świadomości narodowej mniejszości polskiej.W trzecim rozdziale starano się wyjaśnić przyczyny odejścia od polityki korienizacji i zastosowania przez Stalina masowych represji w latach trzydziestych oraz czym odznaczała się „Operacja Polska”.
