Gry słowne w Pianie dni Borisa Vian - niedogodność czy kreatywne wyzwanie dla tłumacza?

The purpose of the present bachelor thesis is to study how creativity of the author can influence work of the translator, taking for exemple “Froth on the Daydream” by Boris Vian. Our goal is to show the multitude of the possible classifications of the wordplays from the analyzed book and to study the choices of the polish translator. In the theoretical part we describe the notions such as: wordplay, neologism, and we show the difficulties that rise during the translation. In the practical part we try to classify the selected wordplays from “Froth on the Daydream” and to look into the strategy chosen by the polish translator.

Celem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest zbadanie, w jaki sposób kreatywność językowa autora może wpływać na pracę tłumacza, na przykładzie utworu „Piana dni” Boris’a Vian. Mamy na celu pokazanie bogactwa możliwych klasyfikacji gier słownych występujących w tym utworze oraz zanalizowanie wyborów dokonanych przez polskiego tłumacza.W części teoretycznej opisujemy pojęcia takie jak: gra słowna, neologizm, oraz pokazujemy trudności, z którymi można się spotkać podczas tłumaczenia. W części praktycznej, próbujemy sklasyfikować wybrane gry słowne występujące w „Pianie dni” oraz zanalizować strategię wybraną przez polskiego tłumacza.

L’objectif du présent mémoire de licence est d’analyser comment la créativité linguistique de l’auteur peut influencer le travail du traducteur sur l’exemple du livre « L’Écume des jours » de Boris Vian. Notre propos est d’essayer de montrer le nombre des classifications possibles de jeux de mots présents dans le livre en question et d’analyser les choix du traducteur de la version polonaise.Dans la partie théorique, nous présentons les notions telles que : le jeux de mots, le néologisme, ainsi que des difficultés qui surgissent pendant la traduction en général. Dans la partie pratique, nous essayons de classifier les jeux de mots sélectionnés du livre en question et d’analyser la stratégie choisie par le traducteur polonais.
