The work concerns the functioning of public museums in Poland depending on their administrators. It presents the history and the current situation in the field of Polish cultural policy and describes the state of public museums, especially runned by local government. The aim of the work is to analyze the functioning of public museums, based on a case study of the Museum in Wiślica.
