The fear of death. An analysis of the phenomenon and some factors that influence it

Poniższa praca jest próbą dokładnej analizy zjawiska lęku przed własną śmiercią i czynników które go konstytuują. Opisuje ona mechanizmy maskujące ten lęk oraz możliwe sposoby na zaakceptowanie i przekroczenie odczuwanego niepokoju przed śmiercią. Postrzeganie śmierci jest uzależnione od warunków kulturowych, zwyczajów oraz od wierzeń i przekonań jednostki. Niezależnie od tego każda jednostka doświadcza lęku przed śmiercią, który powinien być w jakiś sposób przekroczony. Istnieją liczne mechanizmy radzenia sobie z odczuwanym strachem, które różnią się co do skutków i stopnia zaakceptowania śmierci.

This work is an attempt to precisely analyze the phenomenon of fear of own death and the factors that constitute it. It describes the mechanisms that mask this fear and possible ways to accept and exceed the feeling of anxiety before death. The perception of death depends on the cultural customs and beliefs and on individual beliefs. Despite that, each unit experiences a fear of death that must be somehow overcome. There are numerous mechanisms to deal with felt fear, which vary in their consequences and the degree of acceptance of death.
