Zarządzanie wizerunkiem miasta na przykładzie miasta Wadowice

The main aim of this master thesis is to analyze the ways of managing the image of the city Wadowice and to investigate how the papal legacy is used there. The text focuses on showing the processes influencing the shaping of the city's external image and those affecting the creation of the residents' sense of identity. The thesis consists of a theoretical part, based largely on literature directly related to the topic of city image management. In this part I explain the theoretical concepts and the social and political context of the city management. These chapters are preceded by a short introduction to the history of the city. The main part of the thesis is based on my own research. The analysis of the material shows that despite the fact that the issue of promotion and management of Wadowice's image was taken by the city authorities only a dozen years ago, actions to shape their image are being carried out in Wadowice. To a large extent, they are based on the use of the papal legacy.

Głównym celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest analiza sposobów zarządzania wizerunkiem miasta Wadowice oraz zbadanie w jaki sposób wykorzystywana jest w mieście spuścizna papieska. Tekst skupia się na ukazaniu procesów wpływających na kształtowanie wizerunku zewnętrznego miasta oraz tych wpływających na tworzenie poczucia tożsamości mieszkańców. Praca składa się z części teoretycznej, opartej w dużej mierze na literaturze bezpośrednio związanej z tematem zarządzania wizerunkiem miast. W części tej tłumaczę pojęcia teoretyczne oraz społeczny i polityczny kontekst zarządzania miastem. Rozdziały te poprzedzone są krótkim wprowadzeniem do historii Wadowic. Właściwa część pracy opiera się na badaniach własnych. Z analizy materiału wynika, iż pomimo faktu, że kwestia promocji i zarządzania wizerunkiem Wadowic, została podjęta przez władze miasta dopiero kilkanaście lat temu, w Wadowicach prowadzone są działania kształtujące ich wizerunek. W dużej mierze oparte są one na wykorzystaniu spuścizny papieskiej.
