The processes of social discrimination based on the Buraku minority.

The subject of this thesis is discrimination of the Japanese social minority called Buraku, which members are often described in the literature as the descendants of outcasts from the Edo period. The thesis brings up such issues as the theories and examples of discrimination, the history of discussed minority, its discrimination and also the attempts of working against such behaviours. The thesis tries to answer the following questions: who exactly are the Buraku people and what is their history? What could we consider their beginning? How did the discrimination of the outcasts look like over the centuries in Japan? In what aspects of life the minority is discriminated against nowadays? What actions were taken to fight the discrimination? The aim of this thesis is to prove that actions taken by the government or the organisations supporting Buraku people to fight against the discrimination were insufficient and unsuitable, and that is the reason why the problem is still not resolved. The scientific methods used in this thesis are descriptive research and analysis. The used sources include scientific publications, articles from online newspapers and Internet resources.

Tematem pracy jest dyskryminacja japońskiej mniejszości społecznej Buraku, której członkowie często opisywani są w literaturze jako potomkowie wyrzutków epoki Edo. Praca porusza takie tematy jak: teorie na temat dyskryminacji oraz przykłady dyskryminacji, historia omawianej mniejszości, jej dyskryminacja oraz próby przeciwdziałaniu takim zachowaniom. Praca stara się odpowiedzieć na takie pytania jak: kim są właściwie ludzie Buraku i jaka jest ich historia? Od kiedy możemy mówić o ich początku? Jak wyglądała dyskryminacja wyrzutków na przestrzeni wieków w Japonii? W jakich aspektach życia dyskryminowana jest omawiana mniejszość obecnie? Jakie działania były podejmowane do walki z ich dyskryminacją? Celem pracy jest udowodnienie, iż środki podjęte do walki z dyskryminacją przez zarówno rząd jak też organizacje wspierające ludność Buraku były niewystarczające lub nieodpowiednie, dlatego problem wciąż pozostaje aktualny.Metody badawcze użyte w pracy to metoda opisowa oraz analiza. Źródła użyte przy pisaniu pracy to publikacje naukowe, artykuły prasy internetowej oraz źródła internetowe.
