Development and functioning of the Special Economic Zone in Starachowice

Special Economic Zones in Poland have existed since 1995. The first zone, which was a model of development for the rest, was created on the model of the zone in Shannon, the Special Economic Zone "Euro-Park" Mielec. The Special Economic Zone "Starachowice" was established in 1997, based on industrial traditions, available infrastructure and staff. The currently analyzed zone is of industrial character with the domination of the metal industry. In 2017, it gave over 8,000 jobs, including more than 4,000 in Starachowice. The zone contributed to the decline in unemployment in the poviat. In terms of employment, the largest employer in the Starachowice Subzone is MAN Bus.

Specjalne Strefy Ekonomiczne w Polsce istnieją od 1995 roku. Pierwszą strefą, która była wzorem rozwoju dla pozostałych, była utworzona na wzór strefy w Shannon, Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna „Euro-Park” Mielec. Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna „Starachowice” powstała w 1997 roku, bazując na tradycjach przemysłowych, dostępnej infrastrukturze i kadrze. Obecnie analizowana strefa ma charakter przemysłowy z dominacją branży metalowej. W 2017 roku dawała ponad 8 tysięcy miejsc pracy w tym w Starachowicach ponad 4 tysiące. Strefa przyczyniła się do spadku bezrobocia w powiecie. Pod względem zatrudnienia największym pracodawcą w podstrefie starachowickiej dominuje firma MAN Bus.
