The purpose of this article is to discuss the image of the child and early years of human life in ancient Egypt and India. The work discusses and compares selected areas. The approach in a given ancient community to the birth of a new family member and the sex of a child has been analyzed. It also focuses on the responsibilities of children, as well as their relationship with parents and the contribution of father and mother to raising a descendant. Also the subject of entertainment and toys of ancient children was touched. The article concerns how a child was seen in Egyptian and Indian culture during the antiquity period.

Celem tego artykułu jest omówienie obrazu dziecka i wczesnych lat życia człowieka w starożytnym Egipcie i Indiach. Praca omawia oraz porównuje wybrane obszary. Analizie poddano podejście w danej społeczności starożytnej do narodzin nowego członka rodziny oraz płci dziecka. Skupia się ona także na obowiązkach dzieci, a także ich relacji z rodzicami oraz wkładzie ojca i matki w wychowanie potomka. Poruszony został temat rozrywek oraz zabawek starożytnych dzieci. Artykuł dotyczy tego jak odbierane było dziecko w kulturze egipskiej i indyjskiej w okresie starożytności.
