The effect of ethylene glycol on the human body - case study

Zatrucie glikolem stanowi poważny problem medyczny, ponieważ jego konsekwencje są groźne dla życia i zdrowia pacjentów. W przedstawionej pracy przeanalizowano dane literaturowe dotyczące toksycznego wpływu glikolu etylenowego na organizm człowieka. W części klinicznej opisano przypadek pacjenta zatrutego tą substancją oraz sposoby postępowania na etapie przedszpitalnym, a także w klinice toksykologii.

Glycol poisoning is a serious medical problem, because it’s consequences are dangerous for patients life and health. This thesis presents toxic effects of ethylene glycol on the human body. The clinical part describes case study of a patient poisoned with this substance and methods used for treatment at the pre-hospital stage, as well as at the toxicology clinic.
