Germanisms in the film version's translation of Karl May's novels

Obecna sytuacja językowa Śląska kształtowała się od Średniowiecza. W centrum niniejszej pracy znajduje się współczesny dialekt śląski wraz z jego zjawiskami językowymi. Praca składa się z dwóch części. W części teoretycznej pierwszy rozdział nawiązuje zarówno do tła historycznego i wyników badań, a także do prawnego położenia dialektu śląskiego i jego cech charakterystycznych. Drugi rozdział przybliża natomiast pojęcie germanizmu wraz z jego formami dopasowania się do systemu językowego j. polskiego. By ułatwić analizę materiału trzeci rozdział zostaje poświęcony Teorii Skoposu i technice tłumaczenia filmów, jaką stanowi lektor. W związku z tym niniejsza praca zawiera również opis kulturowych aspektów tłumaczenia. Część empiryczna przedstawia opis konkretnych zjawisk, do których należą przejęcie czy dopasowanie germanizmu do systemu językowego j. polskiego, towarzyszące im zmiany morfologiczne i fonetyczne, a także opis konstrukcji gramatycznych i kolokacji wraz z frazeologizmami. Ostatni podrozdział zawiera opis zakresu i treści znaczeniowych wyrazów i porównanie ich z ich niemieckojęzycznymi odpowiednikami. Ostatni podrozdział wynika z potrzeby wnikliwej analizy zmian znaczeniowych germanizmów w dialekcie śląskim, które to nie zostały wystarczająco opisane w dostępnych źródłach.

The current language situation in Silesia has been shaped since the Middle Ages. At the centre of this work is the contemporary Silesian dialect and its linguistic phenomena. The work consists of two parts. In the theoretical part, the first chapter refers both to the historical background and research results, as well as to the legal position of the Silesian dialect and its characteristics. The second chapter presents the concept of Germanism and its forms of adjustment to the Polish language system. In order to facilitate the analysis of the material, the third chapter is devoted to the Skopos theory and the film translation technique which is voice-over. Therefore, this paper also contains a description of the cultural aspects of translation. The empirical part presents a description of specific phenomena, which include the acquisition or adjustment of Germanism to the language system of the Polish language, accompanying morphological and phonetic changes, as well as a description of grammatical constructions and collocations, including phraseologies. The last subsection contains the description of the range and content of meaningful words and their comparison with their German equivalents. The last subchapter results from the need for a thorough analysis of meaning changes in Germanisms in the Silesian dialect, which have not been sufficiently described in the available sources.

Die gegenwärtige Sprachsituation des Schlesischen bildete sich seit dem Mittelalter heraus. Im Zentrum der Arbeit steht das gegenwärtige gesprochene Schlesische mit seinen sprachlichen Erscheinungen. Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei Teilen. Im theoretischen Teil bezieht sich das erste Kapitel sowohl auf den historischen Überblick und die Untersuchungsergebnisse als auch auf rechtliche Lage des Schlesischen und seine Merkmale. Das zweite Kapitel bringt hingegen den Begriff Germanismus und seine Anpassung an das Zielsystem näher. Um die Analyse des Materials zu ermöglichen wird das dritte Kapitel solchen Begriffe wie die Skopostheorie und voice-over gewidmet. Außerdem werden die kulturelle Aspekte einer Übersetzung geschildert. Der empirische Teil wird den konkreten Erscheinungen gewidmet. Zu diesen zählen die Anpassung des Genus an das Schlesische und dessen Übernahme oder die Darstellung der Ergebnisse im Bezug auf die grammatischen Konstruktionen und Kollokationen nebst Phraseologismen mit den ihnen begleitenden morphologischen und phonetischen Änderungen. Zum Schluss wird ein Vergleich zwischen dem Bedeutungsumfang und -inhalt von Germanismen gezogen, weil sie in der zugänglichen Literatur noch nicht genügeng erforscht wurden.
