Indo-Iranian innovations in the forms of instrumental in the nominal declensions

Indo-Iranian innovations in the forms of instrumental in the nominal declensions is a linguistic thesis, written with the purpose of explaining some attested forms of instrumental in the nominal declensions in Indo-Iranian languages. In this paper following methods were applied: comparative method and internal reconstruction in order to comprehensively examine the available linguistic data. The paper is based on the original texts written in Avestan, Old Persian and Vedic, to make it possible to establish the findings on the solid evidence. The main text consists of three parts: description of Proto-Indo-European case system together with explanation of the rise of the new cases, summary of the attested forms of instrumental in Indo-Iranian languages and their analysis, characteristics of some chosen syntactic functions of the case in the preserved texts.

Indoirańskie innowacje w formach instrumentalu w deklinacjach nominalnych to praca językoznawcza, której celem jest wyjaśnienie pochodzenia poświadczonych w językach indoirańskich form instrumentalu w deklinacjach nominalnych. W pracy zastosowano metodę historyczno-porównawczą oraz metodę wewnętrznej rekonstrukcji, aby w wyczerpujący sposób przeanalizować dostępne fakty językowe. Praca powstała w oparciu o teksty źródłowe spisane w językach awestyjskim, staroperskim i wedyjskim, dzięki którym można wnioskować na temat funkcji badanego przypadka. Zasadniczy tekst pracy składa się z trzech części: przedstawienia praindoeuropejskiego systemu przypadków oraz mechanizmów ich powstawania, analizy i wyjaśnienia poświadczonych form instrumentalu w językach indoirańskich oraz charakterystyki jego wybranych funkcji składniowych w oparciu o teksty źródłowe.
